Hi guys,
Just wanting to find out if anyone has built their own intake manifold for a Chevy??

Reason being is I'm pretty sure I've got most of the other bits bar for an intake, and would it be beneficial to have the coolant heat the manifold or is it better to have it separate and avoid heating the intake charge??

The usual statment. . . depends!
If it is for a mild performance road car, or a high performance race engine running methanol (especially running a blower) and a cooling system then yes you want the coolent running via the inlet manifold.
If it is a high performance road/race engine on petrol then no.
Having said that if you are doing your own manifold then it is likley you will just use the front outlet holes to connect the heads into the cooling system then you are not going to get much heat into the inlet manifold anyway. . . mine just has 2 X 3/4NTP fittings at the front of the manifold to plumb into a remote 'stat housing.
