Hi all hope this is in right index
I have landrover 1987 V8 twin su
It starts fine but when driving it stalls as i change gear has been running very very rich as 50 quid petrol got me about 20 - 25 miles on A roads
Yes i have been messing with timing & mixture.
it will now accelerate great is going up big hills great warming up to temp great, but stalls from 1st -2nd gear 2nd-3rd so having to foot on gas peddle
I have ballanced carbs followed ajustment info in su / rover sd1 /landrover books this has been going on for years .
took it for a MOT which because it is a 1971 landrover it passed. told the garage to have a quick look at it he said his 1988 range rover has same engine and to just have a lpg convertion and gave me info about DIY fitting
any 1 live near oldham is good with v8s should be able to sort it, have ask on landrover sites but thay want me to come to them can pick you up if need be
Thanks fed upwarby

Check the seals on the choke barrels. If those fail it's just like running on full choke all the time.

Hi
check the float valves and see if the floats have split and are full of petrol, sounds like the carbs are flooding.
Best regards
Mike
