Which sump should I use?

I have 3 sumps to chose from for my 3.5 RV8 rebuild

I think one is from a Range Rover and has a square hole mid positioned to the bottom of the sump

Another I suspect is from an SD1 and has a plate at the thinned, and is open at the deep end

Both of these seem deep enough to use the normal pick up pipe

I also have a shallow sump with separate drip tray, but this is too shallow for my pick up pipe & strainer: any idea what this could be from, and does it need a special pick up?

Suggestions and advice welcome, please

Cheers, Jon

It's going in a hot rod pickup now, but using the SE5 Scimitar chassis

I would prefer to use the shallow one as have hopes of lowering at some point

(not figured how to upload photos yet)

Fitted the slim sump I had.

I 'think' it might be suitable;

The sump that you have fitted looks to have been from a P6B. You would use the windage tray also with that sump.

I am assuming that you have the correct dip stick Jonny to match the sump?

I think it is a P6 sump, and I have the windbags tray fitted to the block.

I'm worried over the dipstick; photo of the one I have is on the Rods&Sods page.

Full is just below the windage tray

Low is about 3/4" above the top of the oil pick up.

Is this the right or wrong one?

Where should the levels be?
