hi there, can anybody help me ? i've purchased a flywheel & clutch kit to convert my ford 302 from auto to manual but the spigot bearing supplied is no good for the cosworth t5 box i'm using as its designed for a mustang t5 which has a different input shaft diameter. Any idea where i can get the correct bearing from ?

Real steel or V8 tuner might do them but you might have to get one made for you in a local machine shop.

Have tried real steal who said they could make one but was just wondering if there is an off the shelf bearing from another engine that i can use. Will try V8 tuner now.

Try a TVR parts supplier, they supplied me one for my T5 box.

I doubt TVR parts will be able to supply one for a 302 engine.

Ahhh, I must learn to read.
Think you could be right there.

What is the shaft diameter - some people on the GT40 site may be able to help as most of them are running 302's with all types of boxes attached!
Cheers

The input shaft is 15mm in diameter. Pretty sure this is a standard ford size. I'm sure i've heard that a 3ltr capri bearing would fit can anyone confirm this.

just thought i'd tell you i went to bearing services limited (BSL) & they supplied me with a bearing. This is a 6202-2RS1 bearing. it has an outside diameter of 35mm & an inside diameter of 15mm. I've fitted this in the crankshaft & fitted the gearbox & everything fits perfect

Keep a close eye on it
The 302 crank bore is 1.375 inches and a 35mm bearing is 1.378 inches meaning a 0.003 inch interferance fit which is more than I would be happy with and may end in early bearing failure. I'm going to use a 35mm OD bearing and grind the size down closer to the 302 original.
