Cooling systems is perfect thanks to Ramon's write ups, after 10 - 15 mins idle hardly gets to 94c now

Just my under bonnet temps get a little high when stuck in traffic, slow off road speed, and when switched off.

Had these thoughts,

Remove the bonnet side rubbers that seal bonnet to wing

Remove the bonnet rear rubbers that seal bonnet to rear bulk head

Or lift the rear of the bonnet by 1/4" with S/S washers on the rear bonnet catches.

Or Fit one of these colour coded to my bonnet, i know it would have to be fitted closer to the front i.e just after the rad outlet above the dizzy

Or Fit two 2" holes in the inner wing to let the air escape

What are your thoughts

I'd be looking at getting some louvers for your bonnet instead of the GRP thing! but be carful where you put it as my truck is a pig when it rains due to water dripping on to the ignition system!!

If you know anyone handy with sheet metal work, they could do this to your bonnet (obviously would need a spray job afterwards mind!!

I wrapped the exhaust manifolds which brought the under bonnet temp down on my Disco.

Or ceramic cote them - but probably more pricy than wrapping

Looked at the coating bit, yup its expensive around 500+ plus the vat for both headers. But, they do some nice colours & finishes.

Remove the rubbers first. Maybe jack up the rear of the bonnet by 10mm. This will give you a fairly large area for hot air to waft up out of when standing in traffic.

I think the scooby scoops look a bit naff. The louvres can look good if you cut them in and mount them form underneath before filling and paint finishing. Or take the bonnet to cool louvres in Hampshire and get them to punch the louvres straight into your bonnet. They have done two bonnets for me over the years and they look nice.
