Oil pressure light comes on when drifting

Hi.

I have got Rover SD1 V8 witch is heavy car, approx 1650Kg measured. Tyres are 245/45-17 so get some grip vs 205/60-15.

I just do an nice powerslide +180deg U-turn in traffic circle. :)
I notice that my oil pressure light is flashin/burn just when my revs are lay down to idle. +4000rpm hole time and tyres squel like mad...
I slightly add gas and light goes away, pressure gauge also pump up when light goes away..

How many possibility fault spot i have?
In straight road i don´t have got any problems anymore when i replace my Mahle oil filter to another manufacturer.. Oil pressure stay there where it should be.
But in powersliding it will flash.
I have got STD SD1/RRC oil pump and SD1 sump, Tadpole + hi pressure oil pump spring (adjustable spring base)

I estimate that my oil SUMP is not suitable for drifting anymore, bacause RV8 5.2litre ~400hp engine revs very quickly up to 6000rpm even in straight road.. So is my oil escaping sideways + then pump is sucking air when drifting?
Or cold it be some other problem? Bearings? Oil pump? Some oil pick up pipe gasket?

Thanks..

Sounds like oil surge to me. The oils going sideways. Do you get a puff of smoke as if it's passing the piston rings? Easy fix, weld a horizontal baffle in the sump so the oil stays underneath.

Hard to say if there is a smoke.. Tyres will make too mutch..
I just made slightly milder +360deg burnout turn.. And i notice pressure is dropping slightly down, but not that mutch than oil pressure light go on..
And this time i didin´t notice any sign of oil smoke.. Revs are approx 3000rpm and pumping gas..

Baffle your sump so the oil cannot move away from the pickup so easily.

If you know this is happening don't continue to do what causes the oil surge otherwise you will ruin your engine or at least wreck the crankshaft bearings :(

I made this drifting test 1 time and made small doughnut couple of time without proplem..
I have to add baffle plate next winter. And if i get 4.2l serpentine engine with my friend in Sweden, i also want to take serpentine oil pump in my engine..

I also want to check my engine bearing´s next winter and replace them if they are worn out.. Hope not..
