Took the car for a run after not using it for 2 months, came back and there was a whine at tickover which turned out to be the waterpump, this was only renewed about a thousand miles ago, took the fanbelt off, turned the fan/pully, it went about one turn and stopped with a dry oilseal on rotating shaft noise! I have a tin of holts stuff to stop w/pump noise I was going to stick that in the rad.
anyone else had this trouble? any thoughts?

Just an update if anyone has the same problem- Put in new blue antifreeze/deionised water and the Holts antisqueak did no good, got a new QH pump.
(the old pump was a QH unit as well not one of the cheap imports)
