Hi all .
Just joined the forum , been reading threads on here for a while and picking up useful information . I have had the p6 for about 15 months .
I had top end oil starvation and tapping noises , which i sorted with help from the rover forum guys , ( new rocker shafts , push rods and sorted the oil feed to the rockers ) Head gaskets , water pump , and cleaned and painted all i could get at while i had it apart .
I am planning going back in there this weekend to do what i never had the cash to do just after buying the car . I have a jp duplex timing set , and uprated ( real steel ) oil pump kit . Plus electric cooling fan ( pusher ) and revotek controller . No over heating issues , i just want to feel confident in the blazing Bournemouth sunshine !
I've done about 2k miles since i did the engine work and she runs nice , I have a set of recon SD1 heads to go on at some stage , i'm sure some of you guys will recommend a cam at the time ! Some of you will think i'm silly doing the timing gears and oil pump , then going back to do a cam and followers but i want the piece of mind of steel gears , then do the heads and cam when the cash is flowing again .
Any way some pics ( been battling with photobucket , new to me )
