hi there, i wanted to get on here for ages but havent had a working v8, untill 2 weeks ago. im mgbv8's son. iv jus finished building myself a mk6 escort drag car, v8 and rear wheel drive.

im going to be honest......what the hell is an otter switch?

it did get a little, how can i put it, convulsing sphincter comes to mind. :lol:
but hey ho, it happens. just glad it happened at 50mph instead of 100.

In keeping with the rest of this thread, this is a F**king Otter-switch, well a F**king Otter-switch thread http://www.v8forum.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=8928 we have had a few of them over the years, they seem to go on a long time a very long time for what is basically a switch that closes when it gets hot and opens when it gets cold!!! :nutz :laser:
And now for a "I've just changed my oil in my 3.5 litre P6 rover for 10/40 synthetic why are my tappets rattling?"

and im guessing that the oil is too thin for it to get to the rocker gear? :?

Yup Otter switch and thin oil threads, they go on and on and on and on . . . . . . . and I always end up reading them in the hope they will get interesting at some point, and they don't!

Not really stupid mate.. Just common queries that folk have when they start out on the RV8 route :)
