The 10.5:1 pistons are good for LPG - I did that myself.

I had two P6 including an early one with the 10.6:1 CR. It was a lot more lively than the later one. Of course I can't be certain that was the only difference as both were quite high mileage. But other P6 owners have said the same.
If funds are tight, go for Vitesse headers too. They're actually a very good design.
I'd also consider what ignition system you're going to use. With that high a compression, timing and consistency is critical. Cheapest option is probably a late Vitesse dizzy (DLM) But if funds permit I'd consider a secondhand MegaSquirt running ignition only and EDIS, also secondhand. You could go injection later when funds permit.

I used the 10.5:1 pistons on my rebuild for LPG - bear in mind the rings are wider on the old P5 pistons and the extra friction will offset any power/economy benefits.
If i had to rebuild again I would go for 9.75 vitesse pistons as they are much cheaper and easier to get hold of.
