I can confirm I shall be taking delivery in the morning,
of my crank, new forged pistons, new con rods, mechanical cam, new innovate dual wide band controller, errrrr what else lol,
48mm trumpet base is on back order from Rob at V8D nd should be with me in a week or so,
Anyway I shall be at last engine building this weekend,
be short motor first as need to get the push rod length sorted and ordered before I can check valve to piston clearance
house to my self and burgers and sausages in the freezer and beer in the fridge sounds like a perfect weekend

Had an awesome day yesterday, and had a good feeling for the weekend,
crank fitted and spun over smoothly,
conrods fitted to pistons and the double spiralox fitted to the pistons,
gapped rings to the first 2 pistons, fitted first piston every thing was fine spun over smooth still by hand, fitted second piston and it locked up solid,
cut long story short they haven't machined the journals correctly and its pinching up
we tried two rover conrods too on the first journal just incase they machined the big end faces of the Lunati rods wrong, but the rover rods also locked up solid,
everything is all stripped down awaiting collection to go back to the machine shop
so close yet so far,

Hi Stevie,
when they offset ground the bigends and reduced them to fit the chevy rod journals the never machined the crank journals wide enough to take the rods etc,

Crap news after the long wait, seems like whoever you pay to do anything these days they only do half the job or a piss poor one

a little update:
all went back to machine shop,
and came back a week later, still pinching up, its a possibility the little ends are now pinching up on the pistons, we don't think the little ends have been machined down enough to fit the pistons,
SO everything is away yet again,
I WILL GET THIS BUILT >>>>>>>
Diamond Forged Pistons & Lunati Chevy 6" H Beam Rods,
1.9" Inlet Valves, 1.6" Exhaust Valves, Not Much Room Left

Not enough taken off of the little end widths on the rods,
was pushing the pistons over tight in the bore etc,
Have also found out today the inlet valve just slightly touches the piston on intake stroke so pistons coming out again to have reliefs cut into them,
I will get this engine built if it kills me lol

Pistons are now away having valve reliefs cut into the crowns as the valves just touch. So no clearance. Not good news.
