yeah im going to wasted spark this year Dave.
BUT for now will order a new retard unit so i can eliminate that from the equasion,
it could be this that is causing the problems, as we got it to idle when we moved the base plate round.

any one local to Newbury who has a mallory vac advance unit i can borrow to test my car?
mines on order and will not be here until next week now.

Can't you disconnect the line to it and run it without it for now? It'll effectively just be a mech advance only dizzy.

i want to run it with another vac unit gav, as want to see if it runs ok with it on again,
just to be safe as thats how it will be set up when my unit gets here,

has every one got the same mallory fault?
v8 tuner, Real steel and a few others all out of stock of the vac advance units, and all awaiting delivery
maybe im not meant to driver the car, just look at it in the garage,
spose its cheaper

You could've put some coil packs on it or gutted a dizzy and run it thru that by now!
Why not get started on that route? I have a pressed steel 36-1 wheel you can have (for now't) then all you have to do is thieve some coils from a scrappie and away you go!
Flogging the mallory bits will get you a decent amount of money back for the mods you've just done too.

I'm going to bill shirvs at some point this weekend hopefully (if he can find the fault with my ecu if any) so if i do do you want me to pop over with the wheel?

well phoned another 4 v8 parts places from the net today and they also had no mallory vac advance units
