I'd put them on the rear of the tube if you have the choice, as it tends to give you more space to mount them as far out to the ends of the axel as you can. often the 4 link gets in the way of mounting in front.
Can you make alternate posts as Coops and Thev8Kid??

You wont need many shims, although I have plenty here.

Using Ford parts the pinion will need a 40thou behind the bearing for setting the pinion depth. which your existing one will have.

For lash to move the CW from side to side, basically you should get away with swapping existing shims about to achieve it. Although again I have plenty here.

Ta stevie,
once the axles here will give you a shout regarding the shims and the 3.27 CWP mate,
may even have the mosser shafts off you also,
need to measure mine up first then send you my lengths to see if they will work, also need to check the funds in the bank

TBH for the shims etc. Buying a bearing/rebuild kit from Summit etc might be as handy.

Bearings from the US will be cheaper than sourcing in the UK, and it'll come with all the bits neeed. New crush sleeve, new nut, shims etc

They arent overly expensive either.

Tony I found this on Modded Mustangs.com

79-93 Mustangs use a 57 inch wide rear axle. 94-98 Mustangs use a 58.5 inch wide rear axle. 99 and newer Mustangs use a 59 7/8 inch wide rear axle. Lincoln Mark7 LSC, SVO Mustang and Fox Body Saleens use a 59.5 inch wide rear axle.

Hope this helps.

that all 8.8's Ged?

also regarding guys already using the 8.8.
Do you think its worth me converting to c clip elims?
or bolt it in and try it? im going to be running discs on the rear so this should stop the shafts walking if one breaks
plus im not putting out mega bhp, and theres a few mustangs out there using the axles as is,

Also Gear ratios,
been told by a couple of guys racign to leave the 3.08 gears in,
What ratios everyone else using on the track?

Hi Tony
if you are going to run RWYB events then I am pretty sure you are OK with c clips, if you go to an ET or other class racing and will be quicker than 10.99 then I am pretty sure you will need the eliminator kit.
Hope that helps
best regards
Mike

Hi Tony
you must be looking at 200-210 ish at the moment at the wheels out of the 4.6, stick on that blower and it should get another 120 to 140 at 9- 10psi boost and an intercooler. Ok you may need 50 BHP of nitrous to help the mid range but it is doable!

Mike
