Been there done that
You change one thing and the next thing you know there are ten other small things that need attention. Reminds me of a small snowball that eventually got bigger and bigger.
... thinking about swapping the cam in my engine during the Xmas holiday ...

Hi Jukka
Yes it feels like the car is fighting against me at the moment.
After all this work I hope I wont be disappointed!
Cheers

Can't you replace the straight fitting with a 90 degree one and run the copper lines to the side and down?

I have ordered a 90* fitting!so great minds think alike !
I could of done it with the fittings I've got,but I would have to "break" the fittings every time I wanted to take the cover off !

Tom
I have bought something that looks very similar but rated at 60amps

I used to mount the alternator where yours is but had to switch sides when I fitted the serpentine front cover to make way for my electric water pump.
Need to get a shorter drive belt now.

Finally got the new alternator fitted and wired up.
Was all set to start the engine for the first time. Turned on the ignition and straight away fuel started leaking from the injectors. bearing in mind that these injectors are supposed to be latest technology and cost £750 I was not at all impressed.
The injectors had a small ally adaptor to increase their length to match the originals and it appeared to be a bad seal.
Anyway I modified the fuel rail and did away with the adaptors and no more leaks.
The old injectors were about 200cc min and the old fuel pressure was 5 bar.
New injectors are 450cc ( as recommended by the supplier Mr. Injector ) new fuel pressure 3 bar.
So All ready, switched on ignition and pressed the starter. Engine turned over but wouldn't fire. In fact there was no spark at all.
I connected the lap top and found that the RPM showed zero even when cranking so clutching at straws I replaced the crank sensor which did the trick and the engine sprang into life.
Took the revs up to 2000 to bed the cam in but it was running so rich ( to be expected) I shut it down and reached for the manual.
Found that the Canems ECU has a feature to re scale flow / pressure
So entered the information and things were a lot better but still running on the rich side.
Then I lowered the injector resolution which had a positive effect and the engine ran much smoother and after the cam break in it even managed to idle reasonably well.
bearing in mind that I am new to this fuel injection I am really chuffed how it is running.
Now it just needs mapping properly.
A few pics without air filters fitted.

Nice work there

just an observation but if that is cloth over-braided hose you have on that fuel rail bin it I have seen more failures using this stuff than I care to remember

it may be fine at 1st but will be short lived

Thanks for the heads up on the fuel lines they were all I could get at the time but will replace them soon.
I have relocated the battery from the boot into the engine bay. This has had a very positive effect on cranking speed and charging.
Rolling road booked for next week!!!!!!!!!!
I will post the dyno sheet.
predictions anyone?

The car is at the Rolling road now!
This is the same rolling road that I always use at Circuit Motors, Castle combe.
Just re capping results that I have had in the past.
4.0L 272 cam 10.5:1 CR standard rockers. JWR inlet 500 edelbrock made 256bhp
4.6L, Roller rockers, 238 cam huffaker/edelbrock 500 made 293bhp
Add on the Merlin heads and the power was 330BHP
Add the 45mm jenvey throttle bodies and Canems engine management which made 368bhp.
So from the above I would say that this rolling road is reading about right and similar to others.
I will have the final results for the 5.0L engine with the TA heads later today. Looking VERY good so far.
