How about throwing the heavy Rover alternator bracket out while you're at it?

John Eales made something suitable - here's mine (still in pieces).
Image

Throwing the PAS off the car was a good move for me - I would encourage you do do the same. If it's too heavy after that, then a good old Corsa EPAS column would work...

My oil filler came from Leven Technology (a TVR specialist) many years ago. I believe they have changed the design a bit since I got that one.

Start of the charger mounting bracket template,
this is the head mounting bracket,
the charger mounting bracket bolts to this via 4 spacer tubes,

Image
charger and charger bracket for trial fitment with 2 of the 4 spacer tubes, (ignore the long bolts all i had until the correct ones arrive)

Image
Side view of charger and bracket,
thinking about taking the charger intake pipe through the inner wing into the N/S wheel arch, and then down to the front air intake on the valence and mounting an air box of some sort there out of the way,

Managed to get the bolts today, so bolted every thing up tight, still need to fettle the bracket so it looks better,
Also started planing the belt tensioner pulleys etc, this route should give the water pump enough wrap, and plenty of wrap around the charger pulley,

It's close the bonnet just touches so need to drop the charger about 10mm, will then clear the bonnet and clear the exhaust manifold,

Hi All,
dont get much time to post on here at present, BUT i do pop in to make sure everything is ok

Right:
the power steering crossmember has now been converted to a manual steering set up and should be on the car this coming week,

the idler pulley where the power steering pump lives will be finished this weekend, all means the supercharger takes another step closer to being fitted

Hope to get the car running in the next couple of weeks as Classic ford is creeping up fast (may)

All fitted under the capri this evening,

Used the pulley off my belt tensioner to make the bracket to replace the power steering pump, (now need a tensioner and pulley ASAP)

all fitted on the car along with a shorter poly V belt,
all working a treat so far, not road tested yet.

Change of plan on the charger front,
the paxton has been sold on now, and we have decided to go down the route of the Rotrex C38-91 Charger and also an intercooler,

So:
We came across a nearly new RS500 cossie intercooler,
Image

After trimming the side brackets down we managed to get the intercooler to sit in the front grill area,
note how much is needing removing from bonnet slam panel to allow pipes to clear.
Image

How the rad and intercooler should sit together,
Image

How the rad and intercooler sit together in the car,

Panel work all trimmed out to clear pipes,
Image

New ally Audi rad, was time to replace the old one after 16yrs use
Image

The new charger setup from SC Power
Image

New rad and new fans, and the start of the new ally mounting brackets,
(old steel brackets were old and heavy)
Image

Brackets nearly finished, corners need radiusing off,
and the lower bracket will be made to fit once rad is sat in place to make sure its a nice snug fit and its supporting the rad.
Image

Had to cut out more of the lower valance support to clear the fans and rad,
Image

Hoses all still fit thank god !!

How much we had to cut out in the end to clear the fans and rad,

As promised,
glad we bolted it up today as found a couple of issues,
as in bolt holes not drilled and threaded in the brackets,
holes full of weld,
and the boss on the charger maybe too long and holding the brackets apart and not letting everything sit true.
