Stop press....

breadboard is a P.O.S. and I can't solder for sh1t either. A proper circuit board is needed and 5 hours of head scratching later we had a professional(?) looking 2-layer LED and resistor layout and the first tracks partially laid in.

Image

:( :( :( in-line resistors make the board too crowded so I'll have to change them to surface mount. Onwards and upwards

I suggest that you use 0805 surface mount on the rear of the board, and through hole leds mounted from the front. That way (assuming you can track it) you'll only need one side with tracks on it.

You'll need a fine tipped soldering iron, tweezers and a microscope to solder it though, and if you can't solder for sh1t you might want to find a mate to do it!! Plumbers solder and a blowlamp just don't cut it.

...soooooo what you're saying is the tig welder with fine wire is still no good

actually I have an electronics geek mate who will do the job in exchange for Weston's Old Rosie Cider (8%). But he's got to do the soldering before he does the drinking!

I'd give him the Old Rosie first for a chuckle!

Eeeehup!

after breadboards, LEDs, circuit boards and cider loving leccy geeks I found these beauties lurking in a Harley Davidson accessory site. Outer ring amber, inner rings 2 mode side and stop. Unfortunately they wouldn't fit the original glass lenses so I turned up some acrylic replacements. Couldn't be asked to make them optically perfect by polishing for hours though.

...but we had to mod the rollcage so the seats could give enough leg room.

The crossbrace was moved off from one side of the cage to the wheel arch.

Good to see you've found some seats that fit in there and look good too, just waiting for a pic of them in there now

Are those dash switches going to be OK for the SVA test? or don't you need one of those?

Chris,

thanks for the concern but in my best comic french voice "I spit on the SVA test"

Luckily the car is exempt (so far)

Cheers,
