How did you get on with this project?

LM7 [GM Gen III 5.3 V8] considered to be one of the least troublesome V8 engines on the planet.
Better reliability record and lower customer problems than Merc and BMW types.
Perfect replacement for the old Rover V8. You can buy the 4.8 (LR4) for about $400 from salvage yards in the U.S. They make 270-290hp & 280-300lb-ft on just the factory tune.

2007 LM7 uses E67 controller (PCM). The ETC parameters easy enough to delete but you'll need a pre-2003 LM7 for a cable TB.

Hi,

How am i getting on? Not very well to be honest, i havent laid a spanner on my cars in months :oops:

I am in the process of expanding my business and have no free time at the moment although hoping to get back on it in the spring.

Thats encouraging news about the LM7 but it will be up for sale, offers invited, i think i am going a different way with the project now, i have a BMW E36 M3 EVO (321hp 269ftlb) sat here ready to break, thinking of transplanting front and rear subframes complete, ie engine, 6spd box, LSD, struts, massive brakes etc and should all fit under a Zakspeed body

I know i will be 2 cylinders short, but they give reasonable economy, i struggle to get my roadgoing M3 under 16mpg even when i thrash the living daylights out of it :wink: and i will not have to shell out on a decent axle, brakes and suspension.

Am i now barred from this site? :lol:

P.S. I also have a 4.6 Rover running on carbs if anyone is interested
