I'm still working my way through the old posts and came across this one.

I work for a helicopter operator and we have shed about 400 jobs around the world and it looks to be more too soon. Fortunately, the base I am on has just had the contract renewed for 5years so we look reasonably safe for now.

I changed jobs just over a month ago, now I'm 'Mechanical Workshop Manager' for the medical physics department of a local hospital, sounds grand but I'm the only one in the workshop :lol: Better pay, more holiday, less stress and a NHS pension. Much less opportunity to do my V8 stuff on the side though :?

I know a bloke who runs a workshop at one of the local hospitals and he spends his time making fork braces and rear-sets for bikes.....

Great job if you can get it!! :lol:
