Perry.
What are you using for a starter with your setup?
Im thinking Ill need a good gear reduction mini starter as Im planning a high compression engine and Ill also need as much clearance as possible.

My old low comp (less than8:1) 3500 span over fine with the standard MGB starter. I'm now unsing 9.3:1 4600 and it does tend to show definate fast / slow effect when cranking, but she starts ok.

Special day today. :D The post man's just arived...
My first EVER delivery from Real Steal arived this morning...

TH350 rear mount!!!

Also, its the first new part i've bought for my new MGB V8 Hotrod project!

... and whilst i've been writing this message, the postman came to the door again!
My university have awarded me a scholarship for just over £1,200 So thats the gearbox paid for too!!! :shock: :D

I just picked one up at one of the local junkyards for myself.
You guys have to be loving the exchange rates!

This is true... i've budgeted my total project at 14k plus, Pel. :(

Like I said before, if i'm a very lucky boy i'll be rolling her out in 2009 at the pod for the start of the season.

I've actually got an automatic transmission flywheel for an Olds 215. Looks nothing like the Buick 215 one. Like the one on the left.

It also takes a torque converter. I wouldn't call it a flexplate, but, it does the same thing.

That is interesting. Maybe the Ebay ad I took the picture from mistakenly called it an Oldsmobile unit.

At any rate the picture is correct for a Buick 215.
