Yeah the chambers are an improvement but I am most impressed that the valves appear to be much closer to the bore centerline. This is no mean feat considering they use the standard rocker gear arrangement (albeit with some re-enforcement at the shaft ends, right where it is needed) . I expect this is the main reason for developement taking longer than intended and also for the unique valve covers. I guess this will change the angle of the pushrods slightly but presumably this was found to be acceptable in testing. I hope they sell like hot cakes and stay in production, Real Steel deserve it for the effort they've put in and its a boost for the old rover lump too. What they need now is some success on the track.

Get that grubby old manifold off there

I hadn't actually noticed that the sided of the head weren't built up so the covers lay flattish.

A bit poo isn't it. This is gonna look silly with a rover style plenum on it isn't it. . . . .
If i'm lucky i may get my itb's back and have another bash at those with these heads.

Funny isn't it? RS go to enormous lengths to make a performance head that can still be used with all the rover pieces and then we all come along and say stock parts loook out of place on it! I must say the valve covers look much better now they are on the engine. It looks much more modern, less like a 50's nailhead buick! The only downside I can see is that you can no longor put your cup of tea down on the rocker cover when working under the bonnet!

Personally I like the rocker covers!
They certainly look better than some I've seen.
Does anyone know the reason for the filled in corner on the inlet ports?
Also, it's been mentioned that the exhaust ports are slightly raised.
How much is 'slightly'?

1/4 of an inch higher. Don't know about the corner on the ports.

Number two arived..............
Just bought the 31 cc ones for my 3.5.
According to RS they will work on a 3.5 with a supercharger. Lucky me..... we run a 3.5 supercharged.......
By RS calculations the 31 cc using composite gaskeds will give a compressionratio of 9.02:1 on our 3.5.
Thinking of buying their Blowercam too
