I was sure I seen 8's listed somewhere.

And you should not use non-resistor plugs on a car with electronic controls. ie EFI.

So B7ECS or similar non "R" plug is not ideal.

The resistor helps to suppress interference

Do you mean Resistive Stevie. Opps re read your post and your saying we should use resistive

I changed to BR8ECS as you can not get the 7 in resistive

THis does not refer to V8's but details the plug type and benifits http://www.ngksparkplugs.com/pdf/dyk_es ... _plugs.pdf

There are dozens of 7 heat range plugs that are resistive.

BCPR7ES, BCR7ES are just two off the top of my head. But there really are loads with different letters and combinations, and of coruse over different brands like Denso which is a 22 heat range.
Or you could go platinum or iridium

PFR7B would be a double platinum, or BKR7EIX for a single iridium which is a bit cheaper and what I'm currently using on my LS.
Although I'd been using some cheap 22 Denso before that, cant remember the part number though

Interesting about the electrode though. It would only apply to retracted nose plugs, ie very cold.
Some of the very expensive racing plugs have a similar electrode, although it's just straight rather than bent.

Cant really see anything like that needed on an RV8 though. I know I only ever used fairly normal plugs and never had any issues.

I dont really have any sensitive electronics so I use B8ECS in the MGB.
These plugs take a shed load of abuse on boost and nitrous or both.

Coops!
When you see the 8ECS plug you will notice that it looks a lot like a chopped plug that WoN suggest ?
