looking back at your posts, 35 extra on an engine in a pretty high state of tune is very big step up, very impressive.

I really couldnt say what the timing is set at other than I used the 22degree spacer that came with the Mallory distributor.
The timing was set under load with one bloke driving while another adjusted the distributor while looking at the dyno screen presumably setting it where it made most power.
Havent checked it with a strobe light.
Circuit Motors are always very good and only charged £88 inc VAT
Cheers

Mine is making around 70bhp per litre which is actually not that impressive when you consider that my brothers Evo X is making 200bhp per litre.

Have you compared the torque on a graph??

Mark,
Yes a lowly 70 BHP/litre but we are talking about an engine with its basic design roots in the late 1950's, even my old daily driver a Rover sterling coupe 2 Litre makes 140 BHP but is a 4 valve engine of course.
At the other end of the scale the BMW F1 turbo engines made up to 800BHP/litre in qualifying spec and that was with an old road engine 4 cylinder block!
The F1 Repco Brabham 3L only made around 300 BHP.
Kevin.

Anyway Results are VERY good, much better than I expected. I have dropped the dyno sheet in to a friend to scan them so will post later.
The first run Showed power @ 318bhp which I was very pleased with.
Then they optimised the timing which as it turned out was slightly too advanced.
Final run 326bhp and 322 lbft torque.
I was hoping for around 310bhp so I am very pleased in deed.
My power to weight ratio is now 336bhp per tonne. Cant wait to get it on track.
Of course The new exhaust must have helped the power figures but I am still glad I chose to go down the Merlin Head route.
The heads are totally standard with the exception of removing casting flash and small imperfections to the runners.
Thanks to everyone for their advice.
Cheers

If he does he won't have for long!
That sort of torque is R380, T5, Tremec, territory at least.

His Evo X is a 360 with modified exhaust, induction kit, decat and a remap taking it to 399bhp and 420lbft torque.
So to answer your question the turbo is standard factory spec.
A very impressive motor if a tad expensive.
I much prefer the raw experience of driving the MGB with no driver aids whatsoever.

Booked up for a trackday this saturday at Castle Combe.
Will be driving the car flat out for the first time with the Merlin heads fitted.
Will get some video of the engine running and the car in action. Hope everything holds together.
I had a sound test on monday to check how loud the new exhaust is.
at 4500rpm the reading was only 91db, The bigger bore seems to have made it quieter which is the opposite to what i was expecting.
