Datalog your MAP signal at wide open throttle and compare that to the reading with the engine not running. If its less than 10Kpa, then its not really much of a restriction.

cheers for that eliot,
will give that a try over the next few days if the weather clears up and stops raining

Diet??
Just a thought

I doubt there could be any setting in the ecu to cause the engine to go flat.
it's either mapped correctly, or it isnt. I assume you monitor fuelling and this remains sensible ?
Have you verified ignition timing with a timing light at different rpm's ?

havent done a timing light at different rpms yet no mate,
it will accelerate quite well, but then runs out of puff and you have to kane it it in the higher rpms it seems,
like i said it maybe me expecting more from the 4.6 than its giving me,

Issue coming out of the corners could be too much Accel Enrichment, but it would need a seriously large value to give you that issue. Is that based on an MS1?
I have just the unit for you in front of me that I've been working on today. Email me for more info, I have a feeling you will soon be getting funds from your lovely VEMs unit. I want to see MegaSquirt MS2 on your signature!!

Hi Phil,
not sure what its based on as VEM's supplied the ecu as a sponsor package, all i know it's a v3 board sorry
we played with the accel enrich but ended up getting a back fire in the plenum where it was too lean (i think) when you floored it, so put it back to where it was set before hand.
A mate followed me a few weeks back and he said when i nailed it stank of fuel behind me, but if we start tweeking the table and settings i get miss fires and back fires,
email sent.

Sounds like its time for an MS2 to me, although I cant garantee you more power but I will promise you better backup,

sounds good,
every one knows the problems i have has since day one which is a pity,
whats the difference with ms1-2 and 3?

MS1 is old and no one uses it on an RV8 these days. Difficult to tune compared to an MS2
MS2 is very good, very tunable and probably the best all round option for an RV8, it can run semi-seq fuel on an 8cy or batch fuel as well as wasted spark on a V8. 99% of RV8s on MS use this.
MS3 is really for when you want to go fully sequential, so it can have 8 injectors and 8 spark outputs (5V) for running seq fuel and spark. It also has a LOT of goodies built in, Launch, NOS, VVT, etc, etc

cheers for clearing that up mate,
how big are the MS ecu's? as my current ecu lives here:

Does anyone know if the bosch green motorsport injectors are high or low impedence?

Thats a nice neat install! An MS will look good there

Is your VEMs settings for Injector PWM Current limit to 100%?
If its on 100% then they will be hi impedance, if its set lower then they will be lo-impedance.
If your unsure get a multimeter
