Had a similar experience myself

a quicky in the afternoon ended up with 4 days in hospital and they put it down too TGA ( total global amnesia) i'm still not sure there diagnosis is right, but like Ian, i was told they would take my licence away if it hapened again

so when i had slighter reoccurence several years later, i just took it easy for a few days, touch wood .... err maybe not the best use of quotes

been fine since

Glad you're out of the woods Ian.
A very good friend of mine is no longer with us after having 2 brain bleeds. The second came a couple of years after the first. The doctors reckoned it was
extremely rare so don't worry.
They fixed his first bleed by opening his head. It was quite funny at the time because talking to someone who has just had their brain stirred up is an experience no to be missed !!
