X-pack??? Lol so much for savign your wonga eh Gav?!

Right, out of interest do you have to use a fast idle solenoid thing? I'm going down the megasquirt route but want to keep it simple as poss. What is it and do I need one?!?

thanks

No you don't need one. All it does is raise the idle on a cold start and keeps the idle constant when hot. Without it your really no worse off than having a carb idle wise. For the cold start idle you could fit a Bosch thermostatic valve that is fitted to the flapper system and also to the ford jettronic as fitted to the 2.8's and stuff like that. Its nice to have and makes it smoother obviously but no real deal.

Quick update, i've built my 3.44:1 lsd axle and will be putting it in tomorrow.

The engine is largely ready to roll after my change to the ACT twin plenum so once i've plumbed in the fuel it should be ready to roll. . . . .

Quick update, axles in and everything (i think) is attached to it. Everything is filled with fluid and most of it is staying there too. Errrr, All the electrics are done except for running a wire to the a.f guage in the car.

Just need to put petrol in it which i would've done if it weren't for the fact that my jerry can is full of two stroke mix dammit!

Heres some pics.

Image

It normally sits lower than that at the front byt about 2" but theres some spring raiser rubber things on it at the mo to make it easier to get in and out of my garage.

ITS ALIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It runs! Sort of. . . . .

All my settings were wiped from the ecu when I plugged it in (except it knew i had edis) somehow but it ran almost instantly. I need to generate a complete msq (or find one from someone) and then i can get cracking with the interesting bits!

Just use the standard 5.0 TVR edis map, it wont be right but it will get you running safely and you can back it off from there.
