Can you not modify the existing one Mark? It looks like it detaches, you may be able to machine an inch (sorry 25.4mm) off the engine end and weld a machined plate on there?

I have a cunning plan !
Genuine T56 aluminium bellhousing is $599 + post and tax
Quicktime steel bellhousing $499 + post and tax
302 to Tremec TKO bellhousing from Real Steel £143, I have one on order and one way or another it is going to fit

I might have to chop the back from the bellhousing and get a bit of 1/2 inch ali plate welded to it then machine it to suit the T56.

Are the T5 and T5/6 bell housings different then? I sort of assumed the t5/6 was a T5 front case with new rear case and tail section (ie the same 4 speed box with a 3 speed rear box tacked on the end (straight through, over drive 1 and over drive 2 ratios??) rather than a 2 speed one.

Just it is unusual for manufacturers not to re-use components where they can.
Best regards

The T56 is a fair bit bigger with a totally different fixing for the bellhousing
It is rated to 450 ftlbs though
