I used to use the wrap stuff on MS headers, people on the Cobra forum would say that it causes the pipes to rot away and not due to moisture, it has something to do with the heat driving the carbon out of the steel. Anyway when I unwrapped my headers they were in a right old mess even though the car never see's rain!
If you must use it then you can bind the stuff on with a roll of lock wire, you can go up the pipe in one direction then back down it which leaves a nice criss-cross pattern of lock wire!
Since then I've made a new set and had them cam coated!
