real steal typhoon cam - i think... (the one they got 250hp out of on a 3.5)
Hmm...so they say!

Haha yeah! Another company (cant remember the name) also say they have got 265 out of a 3.5 with only a tiny bit more duration, and can provide a dyno graph to prove it. havent asked yet and cant remember the company to hand.
Either way, my engine is better spec so should produce at least 240... and the dell'ortos should produce some good torque!
I got 500 BHP out of mine running it on pure snake oil!
In all honisty maybe RS did get 250 BHP out of a 3.5 lump but the advert for the typhoon cam is misleading to put it mildly! I seem to recall it says something like "with other mods".......just what were the other mods?
240 might be on the cards though.

So long as they aren't a million miles out then you will be able to run it in at 2-3k, just make sure it isn't running lean! Thats why I want to get an AFR gauge in the dash, cant really afford for it to run lean under boost

RS actually state most of the mods:
"Ideal for use with a Holley 390, stage 2 heads, Edelbrock or Offenhauser manifold, Rhoads, 1-1/2" headers, 9.75 compression pistons
and a Mallory distributor. Dyno tested on a 3.5 litre with all the above mods gave 252 bhp @ 6000 rpm."
I also assume they used a good set of headers etc.
Basically my heads will be better, higher compression, perhaps better ignition so I shouldnt be far off.
For for breaking in the cam... I might see if anyone wants to pop their manifold and carb on for the break in procedure! May be a few beers involved!
