Ok, been to have a look at the setup and took some measurements, its going to be really tight but i think it will go, i will need some extra parts so some suggestions of where to get them from would be good, they are:
A pair of block hugging headers, the cast ones stick out too far,
A pedal setup including potentiometer from a Chevy Silverado 2004>
Compatible Prop Shaft to modify, i am told all Chevy splines are the same?
Cable opertated gearshifter
And finally,
Someone to pick through the wiring loom removing the unwanted bits, this is the bit that worries me most

Thanks in advance,
Paul

I may have a prop.

One end is a clamped Universal Joint, pretty sure the other is splined.

Will hopefully be over at my storage unit tomorrow and will check.

They're heavy things for shipping and I up in Edinburgh

If you want to sell the cast manifolds, let me know I'm after a pair. Also that looks like a 4L80-E gearbox on the back with half a transfer box? If you want a Corvette 4L60-E instead give me a shout. Just done the factory loom on mine (2002 LQ4) so if you need a hand I'm more than happy to help. It may be easier to get a truck throttle body with a cable than mess about with the fly by wire.

Not sure if block huggers will do the trick, as in mine the steering is in the way, might be easier to swap sides so as down pipe is at the front, Or see about making some up??. it will be some motor when its done, and what chassi strengthening have you done?? :D rich

Sorry for the late reply, i have been away for a few days,

Good chance, it came out of a 4wd but the chap is supplying a rear casing from a 2wd? It has a sticker with 9KCD on it? As for the loom, a hand would be great, how involved was it? And excuse my ignorance but you mention a "truck throttle body with a cable than mess about with the fly by wire" will this work with the standard ECU? and any ideas what vehicle it would come off?

Cannot swap sides as it is the width of them that is the problem, have seen some weld together kits for the gen1 engines so might grab a couple of them and have some flanges cut to suit, will only really now when i have the engine sat in, Strengthening? i have an old MFI desk with some 1" box section, will tape it to the outer sills thus doubling as side skirts as well  Again, havent thought about it until the engine has been dropped in, am hoping for a weld in cage, probably about 12 point and then add points to the front and rear struts, if if is too tight, i may spaceframe the front end, any thoughts would be good

That would be great, let me know how much you want for it
Cheers

How do they expect people to find them if they use obscure web addresses like that

Thanks for all the help so far,

Had a look I have a prop shaft. Its still attached to the back axle under my spares camaro, should get a chance to remove it mid week.

If you want it once I take it off the car you can arrange a courier to pick it up and its yours. I don't want anything for it but if you feel generous donate what you think its worth to a charity.

Will post up on this thread soon as I get it off the car.

Got a few other bits also, 5L tpi Chevy engine with engine loom and all acillieries, 2 or 3 th700r4 V* fitting boxes one believed good one no third or fourth. 3rd gen camaro rear axle told its LSD,3rd gen camrao interior electric seats. One th700r4 box no fourth v6 filling

Also on pretyt decent v6 3rd gen camaro needs sill welded and manifold leak fixed then should sail through mot.

Need to clear out to make money for my V8 spitfire and my 72 Lotus Elan +2 DHC and my mini's

9KCD is a 4L60-E so you need a tailshaft swap and you're done. The computer you have with it can be flashed with a different OS to cope with the throttle body swap. The loom is easy to do, if you follow the pinouts from a manual. I've got the full 2002 factory manuals if you get stuck.

B&M Ratchet shifter (megashifter) will work with that.
Most of the GM boxes use the same patten. So TH350,400, TH700R4, 4L60 and 4L80 use the same shifter.

Different plates on the shifter for the 700R4/4L80/4L60 to a TH350/400 so make sure you get the right plate

I dont recall changing anything (apart from the plastic thing with R1234 on it) when going from TH350 to 700R4.

You can get away with it but the detents aren't quite in the right place.

Perhaps we are talking about different shifters - the only thing the instructions tell you to do is remove a pin that makes it ratchet to 4 positions instead of 3.
