Guys am I correct in thinking that not only as above for changing the inlet manifold and gear but don't forget that there are different timing casings with two outlets for carb engines.
I had to block one off when I dropped a new engine into an EFi setup.
Just hope thats a worthwhile comment.

It's certainly worth bearing in mind. There were quite a few variations of heater circuit, with one or two connections to the water pump. I'm not sure that there's a direct correlation with EFi / Carb. It's pretty straightforward to work out what's going on anyway.
Chris.

The variations are several.
The main difference that I have found are that there are two outlet ports on the rear of the carb timing cover behind the water pump.
On the EFi setup there is only one port. I dropped a new engine into my car and only then got confused as I did not know the differences between carb and EFi. Kinda getting the hang of it now.
I had to block one of the ports off. There is a topic on this forum about it.
Just thought it would help if peeps knew to look out for this aspect.

i new there would be a few little problems, what about the lpg, does it have to go in through plates between the carbs or holes in intake pipes,

leave the efi in place and just run it on LPG ,you really don't need to use petrol at all
when i changed from carbs to EFI it ran better and more MPG too
the flapper setup is so simple , i even removed all the injectors / pipes and wiring for the petrol and just ran it on LPG , it ran perfectly but i chanegd it back so i had a back up just in case i ran out or low on LPG and thats the only time i use petrol
