Thanks for all the help guys. I used 3-in-1 oil in the dashpots and centralised the throttle discs.
However whilst pottering around yesterday I got her up to temp and reved it by hand, no problems. So i jumped in the truck and reved it on the pedal, suddenly the revs stuck. I jumped out and round the trottle pedal had returned fine but the cable was kinked and not returned properly.
Slightlry frustrating but at least the fault has been found and rectified
