I built a 289 with 2vCleveland heads years ago, and tbh I think the heads are too big for street use, and are NOT a straight bolt on swap, waterways need drilling and pluging, and the cleveland heads will not take a windsor manifold, this can be got around by fitting ally plates to the heads, plugging and redrilling the the heads to take the inlet manifold, this way you can used any of the off the shelf windsor manifolds, exhausts will have to be custom as well,

How about this as a base, add a thick head gasket to drop the CR to about 8.5 to 8.75 to 1 and don't spin your 6-71 too fast and your done!

Ian! cleveland heads on a 289! you just can't have a V8 that dosen't rev its nuts off can you?

Chi headed engines won engine masters 2 years in a row I believe. A fine cyl head.
