Okey doke just wondered if any recentish mod could be pointed to as culprit, like.
Seems to be at least 3 Facet blues, rates from 4 to 7psi, from a quick srch.
On the cold start, wondered if maybe it was stuck open at all times, overfuelling? Can't recall how SU cold start works though ,and presumably it'd have been noticed on the RR anyway so discard that thought. Same for the pump I guess.
Burlen do lots of carb parts, not sure if there's like standard kits, but they seem to have a load of gear.

The viscosity of the oil plays a part in the enrichment of the mix when accelerating. Changing the oil type will upset the way the carb performs, so don't go whacking some 80 weight axle oil in there to stop it leaking. No great dramas involved in using the correct oil and topping it up once a week though I guess.

I recently read a post somewhere about a carb problem, that turned out to be some owner filling the dashpots with grease!?

Most of the small square Facet pump seem to linger around the 2.5 to 3.5 psi mark. I think I have the 'medium' strength one on my Rover and it never gets past 3psi.

Hot starting problem is fixed. The Ballast Resistor on the car had been wired wrongly. The by-pass pin was connected to a constant voltage supply instead of just while cranking. The pin which should have a constant supply was not getting any voltage. After re-wiring, fires first time every time, hot or cold!!!!
