That's what I'm not sure - is the input shaft the same on the Jag box and Rover? If not, how big a job to change it?

I have a parts diagram for the 4HP22 (covering BMW, Peugeot, Volvo, Jaguar and Land Rover applications). It only shows 1 input shaft. Therefore I believe they are all the same.
The same diagram shows 20 different bellhousings!
So I think all you have to do is swap the bellhousing (easy), and get the right torque converter / flex plate assembly for the Rover V8.

Sounds like good news to me. Thanks.
As long as all of these 20 different bell housings share the same bolt pattern and the length of all input shaft are the same, I can start buying and building.
Input shaft all share the same part n° (this way we can be sure they are all the same).
We are talking about 4HP22, no info about 4HP24 ?

We are talking 4HP22, yes. But I think 4HP24 has the same bolt pattern. It looks the same anyway.
