I only use V Power in the M5.
Interestingly only V Power and Tesco Momentum are 99 octane.

Haven't tried the v power or tesco super unleaded fuel. Mainly been sticking to shell fuel save petrol the v8 seems to like it. Mind you now it has a center replacement pipe fitted it seems to pick up a lot better and has a bit more power I have done away with the throttle heater that is now drawing cold air in to the system instead off hot air that it was drawing In. At the moment I am giving the ecu time to settle down and learn.
I am a little weary off what fuel company's claim there fuels will do as they mainly test on new engines and not engines that have done near on 20 years and 120 thousand miles.

Does it not entirely depend o. The engine? Compression ratio and boost etc? In my head my 5.0 at a CR of just over 10 runs better on v power, but theoretically I could dial forward the advance and get more out of it then with 95 octane. On my friend an I's project mini turbo A series with 20 PSI Of boost there is a clear advantage that it knocks terribly on anything other then 99. If you are running low boost or a standard CR the. I don't think there are any advantages.

My engine is a std engine running 9.58.1 compression. I have only just begun to tweak the engine a little bit. At the moment it has a couple of bolt on mods. Like no cats no middle box throttle heater has been bypassed out so now it is getting cold air into the engine and not red hot air. Magnecor leads the 8 mm blue ones Ngk spark plugs. I am thinking about a new cam shaft timing chain plus a thermal gasket and possibly paint the rocker covers and plenum with heat resiant paint. Tart the engine. Bay up a little
