That is what I believed, forged was bet, and billet offered a method of offset machining easily - how much stronger in real terms I don't know, but many people swear by good old fashioned iron cranks (treated obviously) J Eales for example

I had the crank done in 2005, I wanted a reliable high power engine,at the time I couldn't get a forged one.Wildcat advertised them, but nothing ever materialised.my engine was a 4.6 that I believe was at the "limit"
Now a 5.0L,top hat liners,419bhp all breathing through SDi heads(O ringed)
I now have a solid base to increase boost and make more power ! (Which I have) my dyno printout is on display in the dyno/rolling road section
At the time I had the money,I don't regret buying it,it really is a work of art, knife edged, cross drilled piece of beauty

Ok guys, have sourced a 4.6 crank which I am offset grinding and knife edging to make the bottom end for my 5.0 (decided!!) track project. Now need to decide on pistons, I know that the most popular sets for 2 inch big end journals and 86.3mm stroke is the6 inch rod and 1.2(ish compression) height piston. But I want a flat top piston, and more choice, been looking on many US site and thinking about possibilities. Can't see many pistons of 1.2 inch compressions on sale that I could use, but seem to be able to source a Chevy 5.7 inch rod with a 2 inch big end (forged) and a 1.57 inch piston that could work (using the lovely summit race website to select) - the pistons are lovely J E items. But would this actually work guys, would the both line up on the crank journal (are they too wide or too thin). What piston and rod combo would you guys use for this most popular stroker option. Want a track car with excellent responsiveness. Am interested in ideas.
