Its basically an old skool bar with a left and right hand thread with rose joints on either end so you simply screw it in or out and lock it. It goes from the top of the water pump to alternator.
Similar to this? Though this was made for an SD1.

Thanks.
Next project that will do the jobby then.

Is the hex bar with left and right hand threads commercially available?
I made up my own similar one by doing a cut and shut on one I bought - but the body for that is round, so I welded a nut on to the outside. Be nice to have a neater version.

Sorry for the delay.
Yes no spring tension on my setup. Spring tension is only for no maintenance. You will have to keep an eye on the tension the same as the old v belt. No hardship since its right at the top of the engine. There are actually loads of cars that just have a manual tensioner out there. My bike doesn't have any tensioner at all, just a crank and alternator pulley similar to an RV8 cam change if you know what I mean. You need to change the belt every 36000 miles though.
That tensioner is similar to mine only my bar has the male ends and the rose joints have the female ends, is also made of alloy instead of steel.
