Hi guys , thanks for the input . I bought a relief valve and spring kit from classparts , Assuming it's standard as it's not advertised as uprated . It is about 1/4 inch longer than the one that came out , so i used the old one with the new valve . Been rumbling around all weekend and it seems o.k , hovering around the 50psi at normal driving . I'll just keep an eye on it for a while .

Hi all . Not posted on here for a while ( do have a look every now and then to see what's going on though )
Anyhoo . The old girl is running well , But ! i'm still not happy with the oil pressure situation , all o.k at the bottom end of the range but still getting high readings at times , pretty sure the relief valve sticks shut at times . I have removed the relief plunger and made sure it's clean and no scoring , even spent some time polishing it up . I have read alot about the tadpole type relief valve and want to try one of these , until recently they were available on ebay and other places . Now i can't find one for sale any where . Can anyone here suggest any where please ?

I fitted the Kenne Bell high pressure oil pump kit (modified plate, spring, etc) to mine and it made a considerable difference. Real Steel used to sell these at one time but Kenne Bell sold off all its Buick tuning stuff a few years back. Maybe TA Performance carry the kit now.

Thanks guys ,
I fitted the pump upgrade around a year ago , and the pressure/flow is good . What i am looking for is the tadpole type of relief valve as mine sticks shut sometimes .

Good luck with the phone call.

I was in the office today so i called RPI 3 times. The phone just rang and rang until eventually the line dropped out. They must be very busy ??
