I had to have mine modified by cutting an oblong hole, welding in a C shaped piece of metal and then fill in the sides.

When I was searching for superchargers the Procharger C1 & C2 were the thinest I could find and they have a 7" dia volute, Rotrex were deeper but slightly smaller in dia.
My Procharger C1 made about 5 psi on my 4.6 at 5000rpm having it geared to reach its max speed of 80,000 at 6000rpm. This however failed on a run up the strip - its main bearings failed! There's a post about re-building it on here. Following this I would suggest you take the marketing 'specifications' with a pince of salt! and i'd be weary about running any centrifugal superchargers near their 'marketing' max speed limit!

Failures can of course happen, and seems for many reasons. Just because yours did fail, doesnt mean they all will.

Ive been running mine at over max rpm for a while with no problems. Of course it usually only near those speeds for short durations though. Which I guess does have to be factored in.

Drag runs dont last that long, although mile runs will last about 25 seconds which are mostly at very high rpm's

It's just a case of selecting the right blower for your application. If you're having to spin it to maximum rpm, then you probably need a bigger unit.

this is what im looking at going too: (funds and wife allow).

Rotrex C38 91 Supercharger (354 – 720HP)
from forum member SC500 (http://www.sc-power.co.uk) comes with the brackets to fit to a serp front end and relocation brackets for the powersteering pump etc,

Also been offered a brand new cossie 4x4 intercooler with charger cooler fitted for £40, was bought to go in a mates turbo kit car but car now sold and it's in his way.

what do you do plumb in a charge cooler? or is it not needed???

Cossie 4x4 may be marginal in terms of flow, it isnt really that big in terms of flow or cooling.

And normally they routed hot coolant through the W2A section. Ideally you'd need a dedicated cold water feed and system
All it's doing is adding complication for a road car. Stick with Air to Air, ie normal intercoolers.

Really though, given the amount of cheap intercoolers available on ebay, you may as well just use something like that.
They arent great, but given most are quite large, they work well because they are bigger than you may actually need.

Most units can be had for around £100 in a variety of shapes and sizes. Bigger is better when it comes to intercoolers

the standad cossy ones are only good for 300-330bhp max.

I managed to buy a 4" thick intercooler (new for £90) that is quite compact when I had the RV8 twin turbo in the MG, is supposedly good for 5-600bhp not that I was anywhere near that!

It is just a generic universal intercooler, but like Stevie says it doesn't really matter as long as it does the job!

Chargecoolers are actually very good, but you need a water pump and second radiator to circulate and cool the water. I have a Forge Motorsport one sitting around that was over £600 new and good for 500bhp+, got it cheap as someone cut one end of the tank off. Problem is it's bloody huge and I'd never find use for it in the MGB!!!
