Tom,

I'm not sure about the MOT regs but would it not be a good idea to MOT it without the blower fitted, i'd be concerned that they might fail it on forward visability issues.

When you get the MOT cert you can stick the blower back on.

Kevin.

:P  I was wondering who would notice first!!!!

The funny thing was that I used a piece of 1/4" high density mdf to start with & it backfired first go and blew it away!!! So went back into my uncles workshop (he's a very high standard chippy who does the expensive 1 off suites etc...) and he gave me a 30mm thick block of oak to use- which did the job as you can see! It only had to do its job for 25mins to bed the cam in, then it came straight off and the blower is sitting on there now.

I have just had the brake line ends flared and my bigger discs and pads arrived so will be bolting the new stuff on tonight. Hopefully the turbo mufflers from real steel will arrive today and I can get the tailpipes done too- then its back on its wheels and ready for the MOT and running in  :?

p.s. do you want me to post the "chopping board" to you mike :D

Hi Tom,
I am just trying to work out If I can make it into a Mandolin top (I also make stringed instrements as a hobby  ) a nice big piece of oak should not go in the bin in in my humble opinion
Best regards
Mike

The engine steady I made- bolts onto the n/s suspension turret and onto the side of the 1" thick inlet manifold just under the blower. Should stop it moving too much and help save the rubber engine mounts pulling apart!

The MOT man said the blower will be fine, speaking of which- Rich and Kenny popped over today and we fired her up with the blower :D :D :D

AWESOME!!!

Swapped the rods twice in the carb and not running far off now, just some tweeking to do, pity the brakes AND clutch wouldn't play ball and bleed for me but never mind, exhaust system finished too, looks ok!

Got the brakes done last night (put the rear calipers on the right sides  !!) but still no joy with the clutch, not sure if the master cylinder is knackered or whether it just needs some resistance in the pipe (fluid) before it starts to push more through. PITA.
