well i depressed, fed up and wonder why the hell i spent all easter in the garage for F@@K all,
fitted the new parts from mallory today and it made bugger all difference,
i am now raising my hands and saying im beaten,
If the car is not running by june i may end up going to a carb to see if it runs any better, im very reluctant but have no other way of checking to see if the efi is at fault.
i hate being beaten, but looks like the red bitch has beaten me this time

Hi Tony.
Dont let it get you down mate.
Have a cuppa and go back to it later. :)
If you are running a big cam you may not be seeing enough vacuum to work the dizzy properly.
I just read all of this post seems you have similar luck to me. :D

cheers mate,
don't let it get me down,
afraid its gone a bit past that now mate..
im near the end of my teather im even thinking about puting all the hotwire stuff back on to see if it is an ecu problem,

if it all worked fine before you took it appart i wouldnt think so you havent changed anything with the ecu set up, appart from maps?.
not sure how the vems stuff works but can you put the last known map back in it?
or does it show any errors up from the last run?
before you pull big chunks off it just have a good check over everything, loose connections plugleads etc u know the stuff.
I remember chasing a missfire round on my 3.5 efi swapped everything, ecu airflow resistor pack turned out it was one of those quality distributor caps loose on the body :)

we have driven the car mate,
but the following day this started,
i think its defo fuel/ecu probs
when you rev it up its well crisp and sharp
but then at idle runs lumpy rich as fook even with fuel map turned down to nowt and near stalls have to catch it on the throttle to keep going.

Is the idle speed control valve doing anything?
