New best for Daddy Cool

Post by bigaldart »

New PB up at York last weekend! 1.21 60 ft 5.83 @116 eighth, 9.208 @141 quarter, 60ft equates to 1.57 0-60, still running rich as well! Enough power to roast the tyres in all gears if the track is not quite there.

Hi Al
Good result, very quick, I bet you are chuffed! What box are you using ? I presumed a shorty 'glide but is it something else.
Best regards

Few rounds the opposition broke so out of it by the eighth. Figures copied from York site. Look how quick the turn rounds were for the last three runs and we were ready to go again at 2.20 but the rain beat us!

Oh Yeah the 1.0000 60's were because those lights didn't work in that lane.

Made up Perry, looking for an eight this year! Motor is still fat and happy, bearings looked perfect despite the oil being like water with all those quick turn arounds. Plugs are not even taking the plating off so plenty margin. Car didn't really mph the back half, normally picks up 30+ from half track and was only getting 25 mph, time for the high speed lean out me thinks!

You got any pics to show from the event Al ??

The 60 foot is fantastic mate. Mine only makes around 30mph on the last half of the track as well.

I'm looking to shave a 10th off my 60 foot this year so i can drop into the high 1.3's. hopefully this will get me very close to a flat 10 sometime..

I bet you think about the weekends events and get a big grin on your chops dont you, even though you are on your own ?? ;)

I do when I PB !!

Respect!
Pel

Too right Perry, the race results are a bonus, the numbers are what count, that 6.0 eighth was a case in point, driver got bollocked for not staying in it to the eighth, be happy with thirty or thirty plus bsck half, 25 is not enough, motor is laying down! Shakey in a couple of weeks then let it eat!

Hi Chris
Yup that got me the first time. . . you will also see people with tins of window de-icer spraying it at the linkages as well. . . Why? on methanol, especially with a blower you are pulling huge amounts of methanol through the engine, (you run an AFR at peak torque of about 4.5:1) the stuff has a much higher heat capacity than petrol, net result things col down, alot, if it is a slightly humid day the throttle linkages will freeze open which can lead to a need for fresh underware!
Much better to give the linkages a quick squirt of anti freeze or de-icer just before you stage, much better for the laundry.

Not like this chap!
Best regards
