I have done this to my engine.
You have the time to do this before the show you know
You know you want too.
Paul
What was the net result Paul??
The engine certainly does run out of puff. 0-100 in 7 seconds and then another 3.6 seconds to gain 27mph when it was on song last year??

I would love to do this before the show, but I've had so much down time with engine breakage due to nitrous rtelated issues that I dont want to bog myself down again. I always moan at folk for doing more than one change to an engine and then not knowing why its not working. But I went and did it myself at the start of this year due to crap advice from an "expert"!! And most of my season has gone now. I've got Retro + USC and 1 RWYB in Sept.

At this moment I have just one thing to re tune, and thats the carb fuelling. Then I can adjust the nitrous fuelling back down to 250hp and see if I get a good pass. I also only have 3 bottles of nitrous for this weekend so its gonna be tight. If I can use 2 bottles for dialing in on Saturday I'll only have 3 passes in an 11lb bottle unless I start winding the pressure up to the 950-1000psi mark when its half empty. If I use about 2lbs per run the bottle is half empty after run 3. This is when the bottle pressure drops off hard during a run so it goes rich halfway down the track :(
Perry, why not run twin bottles in the car.
Im sure pressure drop would be much less over the run.
I ran a twin 11lb set up last year and even played with a 3rd bottle for a 2 stage set up. My ignition couldnt take all that gas tho. Hopefully my new low compression forged piston engine build and megasuirt will be ready for some proper nitrous abuse.

Twin bottles is the next mod mate!!
I'm just getting bits together and thinking about the pipework. Should I go separates or two -4 into -8 and then Y piece back down to two -4's to the solenoids?? This may create the old phase change thing and spark a big debate elswhere :)

I suppose two complete separate lines would give me a chance to see if I was using more on one side. Maybe I could go separates with a small balance pipe between two -4's to keep pressure even between the bottles??

Lots of variables eh :D

I'd try a single bigger pipe for keeping the pressure higher Pel, that way the gas doesn't have to flow so quick down the skinny lines. A -6 probably has more than double the cross sectional area of 2x -4 pipes so -6 should be plenty.

Completely seperate note, how does a spider plate compare to 8 seperate fogger nozzles?

I would say that I think for small engines like ours, the fogger system will be easier to control as it hits softer.

I've now ditched the Spider plate due to tuning problems on my V8.

Anyone thinking of using this Spider system should pm me for tuning data so i can advise on the specific aspects of running a wizards of nos spider plate.

I have now fitted a simple 2nd stage system that will hopefully give me better results on 31st October at the Pod.

Last year I PB'd with 10.6 @ 126mph.

Last week I made a 10.9 @ 127mph on my hybrid system. So i reckon i might be in with a chance of hitting a 10.6 @ 130mph very soon ??

I'm having it large in 3rd gear. As soon as it hits 4200, I'll be grabbing my crotch, shouting Hee Hee!! "Charmone mutha Fucka" and hitting the button for an extra 100 shot of gas

If its all in one piece after that We will bung another 50hp on top

I look forward to seeing the results Perry. I dont think that will affect your ET by much but if your terminal speed is up then we know somethings working.
Try and get more gas in the first 2 gears for that 9 mate. 8)

Cheers Del!!
I'm going to stick a bit more gas on for the launch. All I got to do now is wire the thing up. All the plumbing is done and flow tested. Looking good so far :D

Just need to find a button for the steering wheel.

I better update this as its only 12 days before I get to try it out !!

The 2nd stage is tested and flowing 150hp of gas on a 2nd stage progressive controller. I have been in private discussions with the Wizard himself regarding some back to back testing of my hybrid system and the spider plate. Discussions have come to a stop at this time due to Xmas etc..

I dont expect anything much to happen until later in the year when the track is warmer. But I'll be on the line for the first pass on fresh glue on 16th Jan if it aint raining.

I'll be off the line with a 120hp shot on the pedal. Then another 180hp of gas coming in over 1.5 seconds. I'll leave this hit to run until I hit 3rd gear at the 1/8th mile marker. Then I dial out 5 degree's and hit the button so I get another 50 shot with the other 100 shot coming in over 1.3 seconds.

If it dont go bang I bet it breaks the rear tyres loose and tries to spin me
