630r Overfinch

Post by 630r lover »

Hi Everyone,

Am new here so please be a little nice cheers.

I own a 630r Overfinch, based on the P38 Range rover (yipee), I must admit its more of a American Pickup truck than a range rover, Still on Airsuspension and luxuries but with a American sounding Beast.

Tech spec:
Overfinch 6.3L GM-V8 engine with tubular ceramic manifolds and special cooling pack (400BHP/474lb/ft)
Quite amazing with Overfinch anti-roll suspension keeps the car firmly on the ground. Air suspension would have been re-calabrated by Overfinch at the time of the conversion also sits a little lower than a standard P38 Range rover. Dual Stainless steel Exhaust system from front to end.

Welcome to the madhouse

Maybe we should ask for our own section given that there are now 2 630R owners on here

Did Overfinch do anything with the handling?, or it still as vague as the factory ones?

Chris.

Well sort of they changed the ride heights and also installed Koni dampers, there was one 630R with an active suspension system but I think that was added after the Overfinch conversion.

They also uprated the front anti roll bar and installed a rear anti rollbar, mine has the brackets fopr the rear but alas the roll bar was removed prior to my ownership. Still looking for one to replace it.

Oh and it had optional brake upgrade as well, another one on my list to retro fit

Even the link supplied by 630r states lotus suspension, all air removed then the 'owner in here' claims tweeked air suspension.

Better still upload a video of the 630r toy 'own' and demonstrate the air suspension going up and down.

100% you don't use waterless coolant in your 630r what a school boy error, all the other p38 overfinch, Linley and 630r owners I know all do.

Air on 630 r looooool

Hi there , the 630r as used on TopGear was bought by my friend just aster being featured on the program Reg OFA631, this was the only 630r to have the Active ride hydraulic suspension but was not done by Lotus as implied no Koni shocks on this as has hydraulic rams specifically made I can elaborate more if interested! , completely retrimmed in Connolly leather and Alcantara headlining and deep Sheepskin floor rugs . Brakes upgrade was by Alcon brakes and £2500 for front discs and pads from Overfinch. He owned the car for a few years and completed the Gumball 3000 twice .
