Finally swapped the ailing BW35 automatic for a rebuilt LT77. 8) :twisted: Fitted a lightened flywheel while I was at it. :P 8-)


'72 Rover 3500, 6yr back-to-the-bare-Base-Unit nut & bolt resto finished in time for her 40th birthday June 2012!

After a year of fun, the gearbox seized. My mechanic had a peek inside. Carnage. His diagnosis is that the oil pump had never worked since the box was rebuilt and sold to me with a warranty, and had survived on splash oiling alone. :evil:

It came from a company called TM Transmissions in the Midlands, who seem to have since ceased trading. Hey ho. :evil:
