Restoring a P38a with a V8 obvs

Post by DavidAll »

Hello,

just starting in on the rebuild of the 4.0 GEMS engine on this very early P38. It's the first V8 i've done so a bit nervous.

The rest of the car is at the body shop having some rusty rear quarters replaced.

As I am in a high risk group for Coronavirus I will have plenty of time to work on the car. So not all bad then!

I'll do a separate post on the camshaft end float.

I've seen the older one from 08 but would appreciate current views.

Had 2 4.6’s and loved them currently have a 3.9 D1

Is your an early air or coil one?
