Air suspension pneumatic tube

Post by ChrisJC »

All,
On my Landie project, I am going to use the air suspension from a Range Rover Classic.
I will need to get some 6mm pneumatic tube, however I don't know what material I should get. eBay offers nylon or polyurethane.
I am thinking that Land Rover probably used black Nylon, but if anybody could confirm that would be great!
Thanks,
Chris.

doesn't appear to be anything special to me.

Had considered adding air suspension to the dakar, but wondered if there's any difficulty with insurance, as it's a fairly fundamental (if simple) change.

It's 6mm nylon line, I have heard it called FESTO tubing, too.
It's often used for control systems in process machinery and there are standard fittings and adapters for most applications.
I used the fittings and line to make up my P38's alternate filling system for the bags when I took it off coils.

Like John just said the line is used on a lot of plant for air operated valves and the like plus you can cut out bad sections and using push fittings splice in repair sections if needed...Small tip give the pipe ends a little turn in a pencil sharpener it gives them a nice chamfer for pushing into the fittings and reduces the risk of damaging any "o" rings.
