Its 3.25" from flange to engine mount. Figured its shorter as Buick 340 (that should be 4").

Its Leyland brand and it uses a Ford pulley.

I think the blue one is a Rover P6 pump, while the other could be any of the other V8 applications.

As the OP stated, the silver one on the left is the P5B/P6B pump, I could only guess at the other one being BL of some kind as it looks to have the BL roundel on it, but I certainly don't recognise it. Maybe it's been modified previously as they can be made shorter, or possibly P76 4.4l from OZ but that's purely a guess.

Does it not have any numbers cast into it?

I for sure like the small diameter pulley conversion which makes the pump spin faster.

I did suggest a P76, I wonder if what looks like a "76" in that round casting could be taken as an indication that it is?

That one looks like it has a 3 stud/bolt fan/pulley fitting according to the link photo, the OP's mystery one has 4.

Probably the closest I've seen as well. When we do find out what it is everybody is going to want one.

Probably worth a call to see what markings are on their pump.

I must say I reckoned the part number could be a code for a prototype for a LE Mans car and dated 68
But there is no 3500 car on the entry list.

'76 in the circle is a year of manufacture. plus 12 sections for month. That is a standard type of casting mark used for that.

If you want to run the pump faster why not just have a smaller diameter pulley machined up for the P6 one you have? From memory the standard P6 pulley is about 8 or 9 inches diameter - that pump flange has plenty of scope to accommodate a smaller pulley. You'd need to line up the pulley on the other pump anyway as whatever the std pulley is for that is unlikely to line up with a P6 crank and alternator pulleys.

I haven't checked but it's not a Land Rover series V8 or Range Rover pump is it?

They have a different footprint. The gaskets are totally different.

Interesting what you say about the "76" being the year, I'll try to remember that. As we've eliminated Land/Range Rover, P5B/P6B, which IIRC is the same as MGBV8, and possibly excluded TR7V8 as well, that doesn't really leave much else. Morgan Plus 8? All the Buick ones I've seen have been cast iron not ally.
