GEMS thermostat

Post by Seight-V8 »

Hello all,

I've been running a GEMS type thermostat for a year or so now, after re-plumbing my layout of my 4.6 GEMS type engine, but i just don't like the opening temps of about 92degc that comes with this thermostat.....i much preferred 82degc.....

So doing the usual google searching i found this

https://shop.v8engines.com/p38-gems--th ... -961-p.asp

Hmmm.....i thought....just what i need....but £300 price tag.....

Any took the plunge?....or recommend something else?

I believe that the Discovery 2 with Thor (and maybe Gems) engines had a cooler thermostat. The plumbing is different to the P38 arrangement, and reputedly superior...

Might be a cheaper option.

Chris.

Yes this one PEL500110

I'm using it, 82 deg and also PRT (pressure relieving). Might need to re-jig your lower hose.
