POR15 or Galvafroid?

I have a new car, and once I clean the arches and underside I dare say there will be stone chips down to bare metal that will need attention.

What would be the best thing to undercoat the car with? I have a choice of POR15 or Galvafroid. I will be over coating with epoxy pitch.

Never used por 15 so for me it would have to be galvafroid which I have used loads. An alternative that I have also used is Crown industrial zinc primer which is really good and used in power stations. It must have a lot of zinc in it because it is mega heavy. Just dont use Davids its garbage.

I have used both. Not sure which I prefer... Probably will be por15 to keep the weight down.

What does the epoxy pitch maker say? A primer has to stick to the metal and the topcoat to the primer.

"sticks to nearly anything, even under water"

I know it sticks to both Por15 and galvafroid.

In which case I'd use a decent acid etch primer. I'm not convinced zinc rich paints have much to offer. Lead based, yes. ;-)
